XC880A OWNERS MANUAL
Prompt to Count: Enabling this function will cause the XC880A to prompt
the operator for an Average Piece Weight (APW) when
opening a part file which has no saved APW. See section 2.2.5
for details on APW prompting. If the operator chooses not to
enter or calculate the APW, the file will be opened in Weight
Mode only.
Prompt Setpoints: If enabled, the operator will be prompted for setpoint data
when opening a part file that has no stored setpoint mode. See
section 6.1 for details on setpoint setup.
3.6 User Password
The XC880A allows the entry of a user programmable password to protect
certain functions, or memory operations from unauthorized access. When shipped
from the factory, the XC880A will have no user password set. Follow the
procedures below to enter or change the user password.
3.6.1 Changing/Clearing The User Password
The user code may be changed or cleared in the following manner.
1. Press the ‘SHIFT’ key followed by the ‘P’ key.
The XC880A prompts to ‘CHANGE PASSWORD ?’ Press ‘1’
to continue or ‘0’ to cancel and jump to step 6..
2. The XC880A now prompts the user to enter the current
Password. The code being changed must be known to continue.
Enter the code followed by the ‘ENTER’ key. If the incorrect
code was entered, “INCORRECT CODE!’ will be displayed
momentarily and the user will against be prompted for the
correct code.
3. The XC880A prompts to ‘ENTER NEW CODE’. The user
may now enter the desired password of up to 16 alphanumeric
characters. Up to this point, the code change may be canceled
by pressing the ‘RESET’ key, which will cause the XC880A to
prompt for ‘CANCEL CHANGE?’. Pressing ‘1’ at this time
will cancel the operation and retain the previous code.
Pressing ‘0’ will again prompt for a new code.
4. Once the desired password has been entered, press the
‘ENTER’ key. The user is prompted to re-enter the password.
If both passwords match, the XC880A momentarily displays
“PASSWORD CHANGED” and returns to its previous state.
The new code is stored and becomes effective at this time.
5. If ‘NO’ was chosen in step 2, The XC880A prompts to
“CLEAR PASSWORD?”
a. Press ‘1’ or ‘Y’, and the operator is prompted to enter
the current password. If correct, the password is reset
and will not be prompted for.
